This radio control model replicates delivery trikes widely seen making deliveries in Japan. When the model turns, the 3-wheel chassis "leans" into the corner much like their full-size counterparts. The 3-wheel chassis features the motor in the rear section, with the battery in the front. The two sections are linked in the middle, and a steering servo leans the entire front section left and right to effect turns. Furthermore, support arms are linked to the steering servo, and help to right the model if it happens to tip over.
Very important notes - inaccuracy on Tamiya website:
- This model does not take a standard battery pack.
- We have seen this model modified to take various smaller sized NIMH packs - some research and measuring is the key here to get the balance right.
- Tamiya specify a very specific battery for this, but the electrics to support it are not sold in Europe.
- No ESC is included
- Tamiya's website implies AA batteries can be used (also shown in our image, lifted from the Tamiya site) - this is NOT the case as the electrics to support it are not included and not retailed here
Therefore this is an interesting model but very much for the modeller as some skill with RC and some experimentation is going to be required to make it all work, due to the lack of supply of suitable electrics in the UK.
